Volunteer Opportunity for Fundraising
Location: Remote
Commitment: ~4–6 hours/month | 3-month trial period
About Us: Lama Yeshe Ling relies on the generosity of donors and supporters to offer teachings, host retreats, and maintain operational continuity. We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us strengthen our fundraising efforts.
Role Overview: This role will support fundraising campaigns with donor care and engagement. You’ll work closely with the Co-Director, Spiritual Program Coordinator (SPC), and Treasurer.
Responsibilities:
- Help plan and execute fundraising campaigns and email outreach
- Collaborate on donor care and engagement including communications and follow-ups
Ideal Qualifications:
- Strong writing, and written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and listening skills
- Experience in developing trusting relationships with donors, sponsors
- Familiarity with Google Docs, Canva, and CiviCRM is helpful
- Self-motivated, organized, and collaborative

Volunteer Opportunity for Grant Writing
Location: Remote
Commitment: ~4–6 hours/month | 3-month trial period

Role Overview: This role will support fundraising campaigns with grant writing. You’ll work closely with the Co-Director, Spiritual Program Coordinator (SPC), and Treasurer to identify funding sources and draft compelling proposals.
Responsibilities:
- Research grant opportunities (government, private, and foundation-based)
- Assist with drafting and submitting grant applications
- Track application cycles, deadlines, and follow-ups
Ideal Qualifications:
- Strong writing, and written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and listening skills
- Experience in developing trusting relationships with donors, sponsors
- Experience with fundraising or nonprofit grant writing (asset, not required)
- Familiarity with Google Docs, Canva, and CiviCRM is helpful
- Self-motivated, organized, and collaborative

Volunteer Opportunity for Finance and Accounting Support
Location: Remote (Ontario residency preferred)
Commitment: ~4–6 hours/month | 3-month trial period
About Us: Lama Yeshe Ling is a registered Canadian charity dedicated to offering authentic Buddhist teachings and practices to help people live with compassion and wisdom. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented volunteer to support our small but dedicated team with financial record-keeping and reporting.
Role Overview: This volunteer will work closely with the Co-Directors and Treasurer to maintain accurate financial records and support compliance with CRA reporting requirements. The ideal candidate has experience in bookkeeping or finance, is comfortable working remotely, and has a heart for community-based spiritual work.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and reconcile records using QuickBooks Online
- Support monthly reporting and expense categorization
- Assist with year-end audit preparation and financial summaries
- Help track restricted funds and grants
- Coordinate with the Treasurer and Co-Directors to improve financial systems
Ideal Qualifications:
- Experience in bookkeeping or accounting (nonprofit experience is a plus)
- Familiarity with QuickBooks and Excel or Google Sheets
- Basic understanding of CRA charity compliance (asset, not required)
- Organized, discreet, and able to work independently
- Based in Ontario (preferred but not required)
