Venerable Geshe Sonam

We are delighted to welcome Geshe Sonam Ngodrup back to Canada and to Lama Yeshe Ling! We are so fortunate that he will be volunteering to teach and offer spiritual guidance. Geshe Ngodrup is very well loved by his students and is known for being a warm, patient and approachable teacher. Geshe-la is an inspiring example of how to bring the Dharma into practice. Geshe la was born in Kardze, Kham in 1968, crossed the Himalayas to come to India to become a monk when he was 13 years old. He graduated with distinction as a Lharampa Geshe from Sera Je monastery (like an extended doctorate). After this he studied tantric philosophy and ritual at Gyume Tantric College. Geshe Sonam has taught at the Maitreya Institute in the Netherlands, at Nalanda Monastery in France and as a visiting teacher at various FPMT centers in Europe and here at Lama Yeshe Ling.
