2026-03-03

The Fifteen Days of Miracles begins with the Tibetan New Year ‘Losar’, which was on Wednesday February 18th this year – and ends on The Day of Miracles which falls on Tuesday, March 3th. These are considered merit-multiplying days (the number the merit multiplies by is 100 million). This year it is also a LUNAR ECLIPSE which makes this and even more exceptionally powerful day for precepts and spiritual practice.

When: Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026, 6:45 – 7:30 am EST (* note early start time)

Where: To watch the teachings online on Zoom, please register here. (this is a very simple and quick registration process by email), or watch the sessions live-streamed on Facebook or YouTube.

We will begin with the ceremony for the Eight Mahayana One Day Precepts just before dawn Eastern time zone. For those in different time zones you can receive the precepts at your dawn time through an intentional recorded transmission by Lama Zopa Rinpoche – with Geshe la’s encouragement. For those who have received these before, they can take them again for the day simply by reciting the text.

Geshe la will also give the oral transmission ‘lung’ of the Sutra Recollecting the Three Jewels.

Specific advice from Lama Zopa Rinpoche for practices to do on merit multiplying days can be found on FPMT.org, including advice to recite the Sutra of Golden Light on this special day. If you might like to report your recitations using the facility on FPMT.org, which you can find on the Sutra of Golden Light reporting page.

On merit-multiplying days, the FPMT Puja Fund sponsors a large number of pujas and practices offered by thousands of sangha on behalf of the entire FPMT. These prayers are dedicated to all FPMT centers, projects, and services; all students, volunteers, and those who offer service in FPMT; and to all beings in general.

Support These Precious Teaching on These Auspicious Days

Our programs are given freely, and we also rely on your generosity – this is the traditional and pure way of the Buddha Dharma. Offering support for the Dharma can be a limitlessly powerful act. This is the highest, most long-term form of generosity, which is to share with others the path to full awakening. When we support the Dharma we create causes for us to encounter the Dharma frequently, and we create the merit to be able to integrate the teachings in our minds easily. Offering support deepens our connection to Dharma teachers and connects us as a community.
