*** Geshe Sonam encourages those students who feel ready and have a foundational understanding of the path to take the initiation of Mahākāla, a powerful manifestation of Avalokiteśvara, in real time from His Holiness the Dalai Lama if they are able. It is very rare for His Holiness to grant this initiation. The practice is said to be very beneficial for the pacification of obstacles and inner transformation. Those who prefer to take this as a blessing can participate with that intention.
