Geshe Sonam will be leading us in this memorial puja of the Four Mandala Offerings to Chittamani Tara for the welfare of our good friend and past director, Arunas Antanaitus, and for others who have passed away. It has been one year since Arunas’ passing.
For people who have recently passed away, within the past 49 days, sponsoring prayers and dedications can help the departed toward a more fortunate rebirth, this is a crucial time for prayers.
Geshe la has said that for people who have passed away less recently (more than 49 days – meaning they have already taken their next rebirth), sponsoring prayers and dedications will help their well-being in their present life. Dedicating the merit could also help them move through an unfortunate rebirth, to more quickly take a more fortunate rebirth.
And for us who remain here in this life, remembering our friends and relatives with love, and feeling there may be something we can do to help them, is a healing solace.
You can send the names of those who have passed away to [email protected]. If you wish, you can make an offering on behalf of the deceased with a dedication for their well-being here. Please include the person’s name in the notes when you make an offering. The names that have been sent in will be read as part of the dedications at the conclusion of the puja. Please send names by 7 pm EDT on Friday, May 3rd so we can make sure that they will be included in the dedications on the next day.
