Our schedule will be as follows:
- 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
- 20-minute break
- 12:20 – 2:20 pm
- 10-minute break
- 2:30 – 4:30 pm (or whenever recitation is completed)
Let us create the causes for peace in our world by reciting together the Sutra of Golden Light during the Days of Miracles, a period of holy days in the Buddhist calendar when prayers are more powerful.
We will recite the Sutra as a group. People are welcome to optionally take turns leading chapters of the recitation.

According to Lama Zopa Rinpoche, “The most beneficial thing to have peace and to stop the wars is recitation of the Golden Light Sutra. This is the most beneficial thing to bring peace, everyone should try to do this, no matter how busy they are, even to recite one or two pages, even a few lines. When you read the Golden Light Sutra you also read the ‘mantra without attachment’ this practice is within the text. The benefits of reciting just this mantra: Even all the material possessions, all the human wealth, especially all the wealth of the deva realms (asura’s and sura’s) can not compare to the value of this mantra. It is nothing compared to this mantra. You collect limitless skies of benefit and merit by even just reciting one word of this mantra. So by reciting the whole text is unbelievably beneficial, one collects extensive merits, liberates numberless sentient beings from the oceans of suffering and brings them to enlightenment.”
You can receive the oral transmission of the Sutra of Golden Light from Lama Zopa Rinpoche online. Listening to the Lung (oral transmission) before the recitation will make your recitation even more powerful.

After the completion of the recitation of The Sutra of Golden Light, we will note down how many people have completed a full recitation and report the number to the FPMT so that it can be added to the global recitation count. Alternatively, you can also report your recitation on your own so that they can make note of which country you are completing the recitation in.
