Why and how we exist is answered in “The Wheel of Life”, an image depicting the twelve links of dependent origination. Our existence is not random – we come into being through a specific chain of cause and effect interacting with circumstances. Though fleeting and often full of woe, our human existence is filled with potential for peace and happiness. We realize this potential through developing an understanding of the connection between actions and experience and moving towards living a kind and compassionate life. A life thus lived becomes thoroughly meaningful for oneself and for others.
Please join us as Geshe Sonam brings to life this the traditional Buddhist image, first painted during the time of Buddha, and explains this chain of causes and how to go about making the life we have less troubled, and more satisfying and peaceful.
