We have received advice that it would be better to say prayers for Arunas Antanaitis on the day prior to every 7th day, so on the 6th day, for the 49-day period after his passing, from Khensur Rinpoche Lobsang Delek. This being the case, we have decided to combine in one session, prayers for the quick return of Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche, and prayers for the fortunate rebirth of Arunas every Thursday for each of the 49-day periods appropriately.

Prayers for Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s Swift Return
We will gather together online to continue our prayers for the swift return of our precious Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche. There is a tradition of saying prayers on each seventh day, for seven weeks (49 days) after a Lama ‘demonstrates the truth of impermanence’ (and every sixth day for others). Following the advice given for FPMT Centres, we will be holding several of the recommended practices every Thursday evening until May 25th. Prayers will continue for Rinpoche until Wednesday, May 31st, when we will hold a larger Lama Chopa and Tsog Offering at the centre as this will be the 49th day.

Prayers for Arunas Antanaitis
Arunas Antanaitis, a very kind man and good friend to many people, passed away on May 5, surrounded by family, and sangha. Shortly after taking his last breath Geshe Sonam and Khedrup lead a Guru Puja next to his body, requesting the Guru to bless Arunas as he experiences the clear light of death; and gave some guidance to family and sangha for the immediate next steps.
Medicine Buddha is a particularly beneficial practice at the death time and during the experience of the in-between. Only a few weeks ago, Arunas received advice from Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche to rely on Medicine Buddha, whether he was to live or whether he was to die, to place his trust in Medicine Buddha.
We are reciting Prayers such as the King of Prayers listed above for Arunas at these sessions.
We are scheduling these prayers for Arunas every 6th day on Thursdays for the 49-day period.until June 22.
