This is a light-hearted and playful workshop where we learn to construct a mandala of the world. We imagine everything in the world becomes pure, wonderful and vast, and then offer this as a Buddha pure land with a wish all beings will enjoy such a pure land.

To get the most out of the morning, come prepared with some ingredients.  You can start with homemade items with household materials such as cardboard for the rings and rice or popcorn for the contents.  The whole collection is usually contained in a large square cloth spread out on one’s lap – a beach towel will do for starters.

Example rings from stiff paper: (feel free to be approximate)
bottom ring: 18″ & 1/2″ circumference by 1 & 1/2″ high
middle ring: 15″ circumference by 1 & 1/8″ high
top ring: 11″ & 1/4 circumference by 7/8″ high
