Lama Tsongkhapa Day Morning: Bodhisattva Vows and “Destiny Fulfilled” Oral Transmission.

Lama Tsongkhapa Lobsang Dragpa (1357- 1319) was a great Buddhist philosopher, author and yogi whose teachings became the basis of the Gelug tradition. Ganden Ngamchoe is the holy day marking Lama Tsongkhapa’s passing away, and a time to reflect with gratitude on his teachings which benefit us to this day.

Amongst other practices, Lama Zopa Rinpoche has recommended the recitation of “Destiny Fulfilled” on this special day. Geshe la will grant the oral transmission of this profound song of realization composed by Lama Tsongkhapa himself. In addition, he will give a short ceremony to transmit the bodhisattva vows for those who wish to renew or receive them.

Our programs are given freely, and we also rely on your generosity – this is the traditional and pure way of the Buddha Dharma. Offering support for the Dharma can be a limitlessly powerful act. This is the highest, most long-term form of generosity, which is to share with others the path to full awakening. When we support the Dharma we create causes for us to encounter the Dharma frequently, and we create the merit to be able to easily integrate the teachings in our minds. Offering support deepens our connection to Dharma teachers and connects us as a community.
