FPMT Harmonious Friends: Losar Celebration

FPMT Harmonious Friends: Losar Celebration

Zoom Meeting Online

time 7:00 AM

2021-02-12

Please join The FPMT Harmonious Friends, for a Losar celebration to commemorate the Tibetan New Year, the start of the 15 Days of Miracles and the anniversary of Lama Yeshe’s passing into Parinirvana.

The Fifteen Days of Miracles, from the first day of the Tibetan new year (Losar, Friday, February 12) until the fifteenth (Saturday, February 27 this year) commemorate the special time when Guru Shakyamuni Buddha showed miraculous powers in order to subdue the Six Founders, who lacked faith in him, and to inspire more faith in his followers. It culminates on the full moon, the fifteenth day of the lunar calendar which is called Chotrul Duchen.

All fifteen days are merit-multiplying days, when the merit of virtuous actions performed on these days is multiplied by 100 million, as cited by Lama Zopa Rinpoche from the vinaya text Treasure of Quotations and Logic.
