Commentary on the Bodhisattva Vows

When: Saturday, June 11th, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm EDT

(The Ceremony to Generating Aspiring Bodhicitta and Receive the Engaging Bodhisattva Vows will be held the next day both in person and online for those who live far)

Taking the bodhisattva vows is a demonstration of commitment to the Mahāyāna path to awakening – and reflects the understanding that our own liberation is not enough, we must also work to liberate all sentient beings. The bodhisattva vows are like guideposts which us firmly on the path of altruism, love, and compassion.

Unlike the vows of individual liberation and secret mantra, the bodhisattva vows may be studied at length before one receives them. There is no commitment to take the vows after receiving the commentary, which will touch on many aspects of the altruistic Mahāyāna path that will be of benefit to everyone. This commentary will be taught online.
