When: Saturday, April 13, 2024
April 13, 2024, marks the first anniversary of Lama Zopa Rinpoche showing the aspect of passing away. We will commemorate the day in two sessions.
Session One: 10:00 – 11:15 am ET – in-person and online
During the first session, Geshe Sonam will give a transmission of Chanting The Names of Noble Manjushri. His Holiness the Dalai Lama has offered the FPMT the precious advice to recite Chanting the Names of Noble Manjushri continuously for a few months, for the swift return of Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s reincarnation. Geshe Sonam will kindly give the transmission once again to enhance the power of our recitations and practice.
The prayer can be found here: Chanting the Names of Noble Manjushri.
Where: In-person at 1287 Coric Ave, Burlington, ON L7R 3S4 and online (see below)
*** We welcome you to attend the teachings in person! However, given the small size of the room, and that we are broadcasting live on Zoom and Social Media, please arrive more than 10 minutes before the beginning of the session, and please do let us know one day prior by emailing us at [email protected] that you are attending in person, so we know to expect you.
To watch the teachings online on Zoom please register here. (this is a very simple and quick registration process by email),
You can also watch the session live-streamed on Facebook or YouTube.
Session Two: 1:00 – 2:30 pm ET – in-person at the Centre only.
In the afternoon we will follow the advice given by Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche about ‘the importance of making offerings on the anniversary of the passing away of one’s guru. It sets out the benefits of making offerings, how to make the offerings with six remembrances, and how to offer and dedicate the roots of virtue collected.’ We will do this in the context of making offerings during a Guru Puja (Lama Chopa) and Tsog Offering. People are invited to bring some food offerings for the Tsog.
As mentioned above, please let us know ahead of time that you are planning to attend the puja so that we can know how many people to expect. Thank you!
Make an offering for the Lama Zopa Rinpoche Stupa of Complete Victory
As is stated on the FPMT’s website: ‘A magnificent 42-foot (12.8 meters) high Stupa of Complete Victory is being constructed at Kopan Monastery. May this stupa quickly create the cause for the swift return of our precious Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche and for all his wishes to be actualized exactly as he planned.’
We pray that it may be so!
