The spirit of open hearted friendship and unity was shared by thousands of people from many cultural groups in North America’s 4 largest city, coming together to celebrate Vesak. Our Community was one of the many booths at the festival. The Lama Yeshe Wisdom Archive books were a big feature for our booth which attracted a lot of attention due to having a large image of His Holiness the Dalai Lama presiding. Driving home afterwards there was the subtle feeling of having created a vast powerful group karma by paying homage to the Buddha with thousands of people in a cultural festival, which is something this westerner doesn’t often experience – and rejoicing for those who have the precious opportunity to have been born into a Buddhist culture.
