Geshe Dakpa Jampa, a senior lama from Drepung Loseling Monastic University has kindly agreed to offer commentary on Lama Tsongkhapa’s "Songs of Experience." This short composition is a powerful entreaty to aid us in making the most of our lives. Renouncing the mistaken, temporary pleasures of this life is the first step to paving the way to spiritual realizations that arise from transforming our minds and that lead to ultimate happiness. Songs of Experience is, part of the lam rim (graduated path to Enlightenment) tradition which presents a guided roadmap to Enlightenment that we can all follow at our own pace. Je Tsongkhapa (1357-1419) is one of the most significant Tibetan Buddhist masters, whose studies and meditations in all the major schools of Tibetan Buddhism resulted in the founding of the Gelugpa lineage.

Geshe Dakpa Jampa was born in 1970 in Hunsur, India. In 1992, he took full monastic vows and became a gelong (monk) at Drepung Loseling Monastic University, in India. In 2002, after many years of intense study of Buddhist philosophy, Geshe Dakpa Jampa attained the highest level of education in the Gelug tradition, known as geshe lharampa, which is equivalent to a doctorate degree and is regarded as the most prestigious honor in the Tibetan Buddhist world. Geshe-la is a resident teacher at Ganden Tender Ling, and FPMT centre in Moscow.

These teachings are by donation to support our programs. You are also welcome to make an offering to Geshe-la at the end of the event.
