Discovering Buddhism - Presenting the Path

This is a regular Wednesday evening Buddhist philosophy, discussion and meditation practice group.  We are currenlty using the "Presenting the Path" module from the Discovering Buddhism program, taught by Venerable Robina Courtin.

Each Discovering Buddhism module consists of teachings, meditations and practices, readings, assessment questions, and a short retreat. Students may do some or all of these components of each course, as they wish and are interested.
Presenting the Path is an overview of the entire path to Awakening as a Buddha. Study the life story of the Buddha and discover the uniquely Tibetan compilation of the comprehensive and essential core Buddha's teachings: "The Graduated Stages of the Path To Enlightenment", or "Lam Rim" in Tibetan.

Topics include:
  • The Special Spiritual Qualities of Being Human
  • Impermanance and Death
  • Alternate Realms of Existance
  • Buddhist Refuge
  • Karma and how to Undo Karma
  • The Cause for Suffering
  • Compassion and Univeral Altruism
  • The Nature of Reality - How Suffering Ends
  • How to relate to a Guru
Wednesday evenings, ongoing, open to everyone, any day.

Donations are welcome (to cover costs).
