Tara - Dusk to Dawn

Come for as many sessions as you would like or stay till dawn!

Date: Saturday, January 27th

This is special all-night practice similar to the regular Tara puja, but with additional prostrations and circumambulations. This joyful and invigorating practice helps avert negativity and suffering, and promotes inner peace and thereby family community and world peace - occasionally with surprising effectiveness. Tara, the mother of all the Buddhas, is a manifestation of enlightened activity. She is particularly helpful in emergencies and difficult situations. We offer this all-night practice for the benefit of our local environment and neighbours, as well as for universal peace.

Come for the whole night or just one session (aproxamately 2 hours). The puja is divided into 4 sessions, each with meditation, praises, offerings, prayers and circumambulating the holy objects and statues. We chant many different versions of the praises, recite the name mantras of each of the Tara's, as well as various lam-rim prayers. It also involves chanting praises to the 21 Taras, long mandala offerings, flower strewing and optional prostrations. You can dedicate the puja to friends, relatives, the sick, or the success of a business or a particular project.

All are welcome. This practice does not require that you have recieved an initiation.

Dinner will be provided after the first session.

You are also welcome to bring an image of any of the Tara's you may have.
